The renovation of the Byington House and it's elegant Carriage House in Shelburne was undertaken with the understanding that Victorian details that contribute to the historical significance of the home would be preserved and incorporated into the building, which is now used for the offices of several small businesses. 
One of the biggest challenges we faced was when we determined that the entire foundation of the rear wing of the main house had deteriorated beyond repair. While the foundation was being re-constructed, the second floor needed to be supported without causing structural damage. JB Construction came up with a creative and cost effective solution, which enabled the owners to maintain their goal of preserving this important historic building.
